Thanks for your interest in our educational programs. Since 1986 the Cedar Rapids Symphony School has provided a variety of educational programs and outreach performances to benefit people of all ages in the Cedar Rapids area.
The floods of 2008 have brought the School to a new temporary home at Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha. We are grateful to the staff and congregation of Zion Lutheran for the welcome provided to our teachers, students, and families.
Beginning in the fall of 2008 we are expanding our Suzuki-based group classes to be open to all violin, viola, harp, and piano students at the Symphony School as well as those studying with other teachers in the community. The experience of making music with others is often the best part of playing an instrument, and we want many students to have that opportunity.
We welcome students of all ages as well as students with special needs in our programs at the Symphony School. Private lesson instruction and Music Together® classes are especially well-suited for accommodating individual needs.
Now more than ever, we need the power of music to nourish our spirits. I invite you and your family to join with the Symphony School family in creating and sharing the gift of music in this coming year.
